All the Things...

My current project is an interpretive biography of Charles Mingus, tentatively titled "All the Things You Could Be by Now."

Mingus can be regarded as the most important jazz artist of the twentieth century if you factor in his autobiography, Beneath the Underdog, and his vigorous participation in virtually every major moment in the history of jazz. The book should be finished by 2013 and will appear in print in 2014.
